What got you started with working out?

My motivation to start working out came from my neighbor that was competing in figure events 5 years ago. She asked me to come and watch a show, back then I had sporadically worked out.

With her encouragement I followed her diet and training schedule and leaned down and decided to give competing a try. The bikini division was in its second year and I placed 3rd in my first show which qualified me nationally.

Where does your motivation come from?

My motivation comes from the desire to be in the best shape that I can be and a 6 pack for a girl is hard to get and maintain!

I love the adrenaline of being on stage and the competition prep is motivation enough to hit the gym daily and eat clean. I pretty much stay within 5 lbs of my competition weight year round.


What workout has worked best for you?

My workout program is leg workouts twice a week focusing On glutes with squats , lunges, dead lifts and plyo-metrics . Back and shoulders twice a week and biceps/triceps and abs once a week. My cardio is 40 min 7x week up until 2 weeks prior to competition and I bump that to twice a day- morning and night.

What diet has worked best for you?

My diet consists of 5 egg whites for breakfast and 1:4 cup steel cut oats, snack 10 almonds, lunch is 1/2 sweet potatoes with a chicken breast . Dinner is tilapia and asparagus. Two weeks out carbs and fats are adjusted accordingly. I do use a pre- workout from cellucor along with their protein for supplementation along with amino acids.


Do you have any favourite moments or achievements?

I was featured in the Maxmuscle magazine in a full workout layout so a published fitness model along with a feature in the Las Vegas Informer.

Do you have any short or long term goals?

I am currently in the running for Maxim magazine 2014 hometown hottie contest. My long term goal is getting my pro card in bikini with the NPC .


Going by the responses on your fan page, it seems you inspire a lot of people, how does this make you feel?

As in inspiration.. I run a Facebook page called “Health and Fitness hardbody page” giving motivation, workouts and diet tips to Women – this comes from me also being a registered nurse wanting to help people with weight loss.
