Carnitine is an amino acid composite that is made from lysine and methionine. It’s a fairly potent fat burner because it is responsible for the transport of fats into the cells to be used for energy in the body. One of the best fat loss combinations in my opinion is a 5 to 1 ratio of omega-3’s to carnitine. If you’re taking 20 grams of omega-3’s, you’d pair it with 4 grams of carnitine. If you’re more conservative with your omega-3 supplementation you can start with 1 to 2 grams of carnitine and work up to 4 grams, which was the dose was that was used in this study.
